LEGO outdoor activations

For a couple of years, I had the good fortune of coming up with activations for LEGO. Here are two of them.

LEGO’s 90th birthday

To celebrate World Play Day and the toymaker’s 90th birthday, we popped up 20 of LEGO’s most iconic characters as giant minifigs at Darling Harbour. Each minifig had a different playful activity for little kids, like playing air guitar or hide and seek. It was simple, but hoo boy you should have seen the crowds.

Play Street Mall

The next year, we took the idea of turning the world into a playground a step further – and transformed Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall into Play Street Mall. Featuring see saws, ‘floor is lava’ decals, LEGO gardens and giant hopscotch, we invited passers by to take a few minutes out of their boring Thursdays and come and have a play.
