Tinder: Australia’s most eligible bachelor

Tinder, Australia’s most popular dating app, has introduced heaps of features over the years to help keep its users safe. And in 2023, it unveiled its newest one: Photo Verification. It was up to us to launch it.

It wasn’t a big enough story on its own. So we looked for the perfect ambassador, and found one in a Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo called Kofi, who’s been dubbed Australia’s most eligible bachelor.

In partnership with WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, just before World Tree Kangaroo Day, we created a Tinder profile for Kofi, making sure he was photo verified and fleshing out his profile with interests and date ideas.

Users who swiped right on Kofi were taken to the Tree Roo Rescue and Conservation website, where they could show their love via donations to support the rehabilitation of Australian tree kangaroos.

Straight away it got picked up by 7 News and a slew of other outlets, getting Tinder Photo Verification onto primetime news – all on a budget of $0.
